La troisième équipe en expédition s’est rendue à Villasimius, au cœur de l’AMP Capo Carbonara, pour poursuivre la mission et les observations : prélèvements de plancton au filet et en bouteille, puis premières observations sur ObsenMer.
Direction les profondeurs pour deux plongées au cœur de l’aire marine protégée, avec de belles observations : mérous à foison, bancs de castagnoles, dentis, poissons-perroquets, girelles, barracudas, corbs… et même une petite limace de mer.
L’équipe a aussi eu la chance d’interviewer Jacopo pour mieux comprendre la gestion spécifique de l’AMP Capo Carbonara.
Dans cette aire protégée, il faut une licence spéciale pour plonger et que le nombre de plongeurs est limité à 4 par palanquée dans la zone de protection forte !
Une journée riche en apprentissages, pour continuer à explorer et comprendre la Méditerranée.

Heading to Villasimius and the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area (MPA)!
The third expedition team set off to Villasimius, right in the heart of the Capo Carbonara MPA, to continue the mission and scientific observations: plankton sampling with nets and bottles, followed by first sightings using the ObsenMer platform.
Next, they dove into the depths for two dives in the protected area, with fantastic sightings: plenty of groupers, schools of damselfish, dentex, parrotfish, rainbow wrasses, barracudas, brown meagres… and even a tiny sea slug!
The team also had the chance to interview Jacopo to better understand the specific management of the Capo Carbonara MPA.
In this protected area, a special license is required for diving, and the number of divers is limited to 4 per group in the high-protection zone!
A day full of learning, continuing the exploration and understanding of the Mediterranean Sea.
